Song∙orde∙space

The gallery as its known is a unique creative space on the Folly Bridge island, which straddles the River Thames (or Isis as it’s known in Oxford). The area for centuries has been a cradle of creative thinking, ideas and work – the old francis Bacon tower graced the area. Since 2000 when the area was redeveloped to house a riverside restaurant, artists studios and flats. It has been used as a space for exhibitions, writings, art classes. In 2015 it became the workshop space for the painter and writer orde and for song, an independent publishing house. As it’s a working space viewing is by appointment and on display permanently are both written and visual works by orde. Exhibitions of other invited artists are held a few times a year as well as film evenings and discussions to maintain a lively changing working environment.
