Orde is an acknowledged expert on The Merchant of Venice by William Shakespeare. He has lectured around the world on elements of the play such as Shakespeare’s Jewish encounter, the politics of location, textual analysis and Shylock as Shakespeare’s most complex and favourite character, as well as reviewing Portia as a Portiago.
Below are two presentations. One, a lecture at Vilnius University, Vilnius which was live-streamed. Secondly a lecture in Oxford on Shakespeare’s Heroic Jew which was reimagined for video. The third is a recording of the play in a small theatre in Oxford, directed by orde using everyday people.
